Document Summary

This event is what may have laid the seeds for conflict between the british and the american colonists. On one hand, it was one more imperial conflict of the 18th century, but there were two major differences. Despite this victory, the war created growing tensions between britain and its colonial subjects. Began early in the north american colonies with the colonial objection to the french building a series of forts in the ohio river. It would be on for two years before the outbreak. In the first stage, gurellia warfare was used in the colonies. The british found that this was disorganized, and they still tried to use the european style, advancing in form. Colonial volunteers refused to advance in this formation, and also resisted the harsh discipline of british forces. William pitt the elder would become britain"s secretary of state, and recognized the colonists issues.
