Classical conditioning and operant conditioning share a common perspective that environment causes one"s behavior. Bandura believes that conditioning approach is too simplistic: especially to justify aggression, anxiety or behavior. Most important advocate: skinner disliked it due to dealing with limitations. Believes that you can simply witness something. 1st group, the child was praised for the behavior (verbally) 2nd group, the adult is unhappy and punishes the child (sending the child to the corner) Middle phase of bandura"s career, he manipulated for the age and aesthetically pleasing, type of punishment: originally was approached by marketers for his theory. These variations allowed bandura to establish that there were four basic steps involved in the modeling process: attention. If you are going to pay attention, you will learn. If you are sick or groggy you are not going to learn as well. If the model is attractive, prestigious or seems like yourself you are more attentive: retention.
