Briggle seems to think it is often difficult to be sincere in real life. I also agree with many of your claims. As you stated, many people in today"s society feel obliged to have a smile on their face at all times. It is difficult for people to show their real emotions during times of sadness or despair. They feel as though they must act happy and put a happy mask on their face. This trend allows people to be less sincere and contributes to difficulties accepting the truth. I especially agree with your statement at the end of the discussion post which states how it is important to find the strength to tell the truth. Both articles conceptualize internet friends in terms of text-based correspondence alone. I strongly agree with most the claims you made in your discussion post. In my opinion, it is possible to form a strong relationship online.
