Select a sample (a part or subset) from a population. A sound statistical design that produces data valid for inference. Using data from a sample to draw conclusions that about the population. Subjectively to decide which individuals are in the sample and which are not. For example, convenience sample, voluntary response sample (individual choose themselves in the sample), and mall-intercept sample (mall shoppers are interviewed) Voluntary response sample people with strong opinions are more likely to respond. Mall samples overrepresent some kind of ppl and underrepresent the poor. Simple random sample (srs) equal chance to be selected. We do not allow people to select samples. List of digits 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 with two properties: Property 1: each digit in the table is equally likely to be any of the 10 digits 0 through 9.
