Health psychology: subield of psychology concerned with ways psychological factors inluence the causes and treatment of physical illness and the maintenance of health. The degree of life change is a signiicant indicator of the person"s future illness: major life changes cause stress and that increased stress causes illness. Chronic stressors: sources of stress that occur coninuously or repeatedly: efects can accumulate and be long-lasing, chronic stressors have been shown to be linked to environments through environmental psychology. Stressors challenge you to do something about it having lack of control over the situaion can add to the stress. Studies show that perceived control over stressful events can be related to more efecive coping.
