They will change attitudes, beliefs, and behaviours to match a group"s. People internalise their groups behaviours and schemas so as to identify with them. People have a social identity as well as an individual identity. People can have many social selves, based on the groups they identify with. Thus, behaviours are determined by membership of groups. Social and cultural norms affect a person"s behaviour. For instance, japanese tend to display modesty bias while americans display self serving bias. aa.
