Intrinsic = you have to do well in everything you do. Extrinsic = you do thinks for the physical reward. Motivation comes from the latin word that means to move or move forward: we"re working towards goals. Others need positive experiences to be motivated. Approach motivation needs a lot of positivity to push motivation. Avoidance is being motivated not to experience negative outcomes: more people use this because they feel like losses will have more emotional, we will take more risks to avoid a loss consequences. What drives us are instincts/genetic make up. Some people think that humans are similar to animals in terms of that nesting behavior. Instincts lead us to the evolutionary perspective: humans have less behaviors prescribed to genetics compared to other animals, we need to be good problem solvers, we have the capacity to work together (it"s programmed in our brains) When we"re born, we already have some moral understanding.
