Pol 222 week 9: urban/rural & religious age divides. Last left off proportion of the canadian population living in rural areas since 1851. Can only expect people within constituencies, or mlas to travel so far. In order to make northern and interior constituencies matter, they end up being huge, and there"s still less people in them then in urban. Up to 20,000 in rural, urban 40,000. Riding sizes are only supposed to vary 20-25% of average riding sizes. Overrepresented in a mathematical way are still less influential than the majority of voters in total provincial constituencies. Economies also pay attention to urban more than rural. Rural are largely held by indivatic right wing resentment. Interior resource is about job development. Quota for the amount that can be produced. Concern of amount produced, sold for fair prices, stable business and stable family life. Us border number again thinly populated.
