Higher risk = more vulnerable populations (word that we use) Classify risks at different levels in detail. Some injuries affect us after the injury has occured. Know the graphs and diagrams that are explained in the slides. Generally, no questions will be asked that were in the readings but not mentioned in the lecture. Don"t worry too much about stats and numbers. The numbers in the slides that we need to know are updated in the slides themselves (blanks or red) A fatal or non-fatal injury incurred as a result of a collision on a public road involving at least one moving vehicle. If it has an engine it"s a vehicle (bikes don"t count) The most vulnerable road users are children, pedestrians, cyclists, riders and passengers of motorized two wheelers (motorcycles, bikes), and the elderly. In most lower income countries, children and youth are the most vulnerable populations. In higher income countries, novice drivers, particularly male, are higher risk.
