Some herbal supplements in the products were actually laxatives. Many fillers were used such as wheat, rice, and other plants were used and were no explicitly on the label of the product. Many of these supplements are used in the us with some also being used in canada. It would be hard to get money to conduct a randomized trial on a cam used to help cure a cancer; medical system would not want to spend money on these cases. Best solution would be to get a counsellor/therapist for the patient. Age of the person in both cases is very important to consider. The oncologist is close minded and dismissive in this case. Suggested framework: if the treatment is safe, you still might want to monitor the patient. Beneficence: do what is best for the individual.
