Document Summary
As i was reading through the other half of the complete persepolis, i stumbled upon page 236, where marjane had numerous flashbacks of when her and markus were still dating. She realized all of the flaws that resided within the relationship, but she was too blinded by love to notice the miniature details. For instance, she explained to the readers how markus took advantage of her infatuation by ordering her to go down into caf camera , knowing that the police visited the caf frequently. Also, she realized that markus could have defended her when his mother meanly told [her] off instead of sending her home. Al of these events are drawn in dark shading, and the panels give off a very ominous vibe. Marjane"s face in the first panel showed tiredness and disappointment, which we often see in the novel as she is not known for settling down with friends or significant others from the past.
