Lack of regulation, criminal organizations take over: network based, relationships and social ties cross over using bridges, social network analysis, social structure is similar. Low detection, jurisdiction issues: potentially high rewards, division of labor reminds of hierarchy, different expertise, specialization. Laundering process cryptocurrency: high sophistication, lo(cid:449) detection, doesn"t lea(cid:448)e a paper trail, motives differ but methods similar, differences from other crimes. If oc is opportunistic, cyber groups also are: low density, still efficient, opportunistic forms increased efficiency, different players (lack history, at organization level, more volatility independence, decreased violence does not equal competitive edge, decreased solidarity/brotherhood. Increased time to task: one-person army attempt monopoly, notion of turf basically disappears, types of targets less predictable perceived threat.
