Structures of policing: four levels: federal, provincial municipal, first naions, private security and para-police (ex. Fully authorized police personnels but work for the cp/cn railway = private: in addiion: metro vancouver transit police & cbsa, largest police services: rcmp; tps; opp; sq; spvm. Rcmp: federal police force naional symbol. Can be good or bad because when you"re the naional symbol, the world knows what you"re doing: governed by rcmp act, provides provincial/municipal contract policing to all provinces/territories except quebec, The further east you go, there are fewer mounies: bc: joint federal/provincial policing agreement for delivery of contract services to speciic municipaliies. Bc has best relaionship with mounies because there are a lot of them here. Organizaional features of rcmp: broad mandate rcmp polices all the shity places other departments won"t go , urban, rural, and remote policin. In but not of the communiies they police.
