Understanding learning and atenion: an introducion to the research of the sfu cogniive science lab. How we learn diferent sorts of things. Why care about eyes at all: central example of jusice and fairness, existence of god, complexity of the eye, express/ reveal informaion about the person. If eyes emited light, easy to track vision, but it is not the case. Locaion of safety/ warning signs on wed pages. Input method: eye movement for disabled/ aged people: gaze controlled wheelchair. Figure 1: spend most of their ime looking at negaive parts of images. Eye moion and atenion explain disorders in mental health: auism, adhd, supranuclear palsy, How atenion realtes to atenion and vice versa. How people pay atenion to relevant informaion in the world. Children only spend 7% of the ime on the text. Category learning task: fixaion cross, image: iciious microorganism, classify into one of four categories, response, feedback.
