Opical iber cable: more secure way of transferring data because when the cable shatered, the data is lost. Wireless/unguided: travels through air; air is the actual conductor. Infrared light used by something that is close by, line of sight - remote control. Bandwidth: the amount of electronic data that can be transferred using transmission media. The more bits we can push through, the wider of bandwidth. Analog: coninuously varying frequency; smooth but inaccurate, ex: radio in long tunnel can sill hear staic. Digital: series of bits; accurate but choppy, ex: satellite radio in underground parking - cannot hear anything. Network/computer network: a group of diferent types of machines talking to each other or the transmission media. Everything that is connected to the network is an unique ideniier/note or node(?)
