Plants are immobile cannot move from one location to another. They have to adjust to the environment: plants must be able to obtain nutrients from the surrounding cell. Anions = negative charged easy to absorb by plants. Cations = positive charged harder to head up. Cation exchanged is where h + displaces cations in soil o o o.
