Lecture 4/week 4 day 2 - wednesday september 30,2015. Heterosexual scripts: the invention of heterosexuality (not natural, 1820-1860, 1860-1892, 1892-1900, 1900-1930, 1930-1945, 1945-1965, 1965-1982. We suppose that heterosexuality is unchanging, universal, essential: ahistorical. Heterosexual, the normal, and the natural have a history of changing definitions. About intimacy with no sexual acts or touching. Could only be realized with the proper mode of procreation. Must be in a marriage contract, sex was only for purpose of procreation. Nothing to do with attraction or desire focus was for proper gender roles for purpose of procreation. Body was a unit of production, and the focus of the body was for procreation. Invert early medical names for deviants from true womanhood and true.
