Nash did not say that racism is okay. In situations where its diverse and people are working as equals; this allows people to understand other cultures better: social distance would decrease. Black and white have the same goals but there"s a social tension either one will give up because of inequality. Feminist theory (gender dynamics: multilayers of oppression, women are disadvantaged comparing to men, gender racism talks about interactive effect of gender and ethnicity and how it further oppressed women, gender inequality between pay. Cultural paradigm/studies (newest of the paradigms) late 20th century: burrows the most in terms of strength, points to the way in which discourses are important the way in which they play a note in society. Discourse michelle foucalt: forms of speech and knowledge that work to structure practices/behaviours, social practices, forms of subjectivity and power relations which inhere in such knowledges and relations between them, ex. speech, language, knowledge of entire subject.
