Document Summary
Sociocultural system refers to both the structural and cultural elements of a society. Institutions reside within societies and organize aspects of human life (recent). These structures exist outside of or beyond the individual. Society thinks / believes (or with institutions) the media makes teenagers think . Society is an abstract term, designating a disparate but related series of features in our world . So avoid using the term in a personifying way. All of us, at times, feel constrained by the rules of social behaviour and many of us rebel against at least some of them some of the time . However, the notion of free-floating individuals who function without any social constraints is a purely mental construct. From the moment we are born, we are, of necessity, part of the social world; none of us can ever be free of it.
