Looking at how compatible you are based on beliefs (political, religious), values, priorities, goals. Happens within the 3rd -7th encounter: meeting with person face to face. Start to establish role sin the relationship: how pays the bills, how cooks and cleans, who makes decisions etc. Intimacy: emotional intimacy, opening up, sharing secrets with another. Decision/ commitment: committing to long term relationship. Liking: liking a person, high intimacy, no passion, no commitment to the relationship, ex. Companionate: planning to be in a long term relationship with them, seeking support from them, ex. Love between married couples who are in love but are no longer physically passionate. Empty love: commitment is there, no intimacy and passion such as sex, ex: arranged marriages, couples who decide they will stay together for their children but stopped being a couple all together.
