Psychoanalyic theory: mother as analyic love object (feeding) -> babies get atachment to their mothers because they provide food and nutriion through oral feeding. -> if the mother is responsive to the baby"s needs, then the baby develops trust and atachment. -> mother provides food and warmth through oral feeding. -> the love object is the mother"s breast. -> similar to psychoanalyic theory because they both believe that infants are atached to their mothers because they saisfy their needs for food and warmth. 1930s & 1940s: children raised in orphanages, refugee camps, or other insituions showed deicits in physical, cogniive, and emoional development. -> the infants" basic needs for food and warmth were met, but there were these problems just because of maternal deprivaion.
