American film industry has a financial advantage over their competitors: they use a lot of money to fund their marketing and advertising, european film companies don"t have that kind of money to spend on advertising and marketing. With the diverse cultural society that is in america, the film industry has to appeal to the different cultures: they make universal films that make sense to all cultures, while other countries make films that are culture specific. American film studios have been organized into a body called the motion picture (mpaa). American film companies didn"t have competition, they colluded with each other. The collapse of the communist system caused people in those communist countries to finally experience films: since the countries are finally free american films were broadcast their and cineplex studios were built.
