China was also ruled by a communist so us felt that the world is adapting communism which is against the us principles. In 1948, igor gouzenko did not wanted to go back to ussr from canada so he handed the rcmp top secret ussr documents which consisted of a list of names of soviet spies operating in canada and us. This soured and triggered the relationship between the ussr and us. Competition took place on different levels: arms race- military technology.
