Horror invokes inherently repulsive and unpleasant emotions but many people find horror attractive and enjoyable. It is just a movie but the movie produces real fear. It"s just a little scary : horror fans are sick! Some things you know are bad and should not explore them. In real life most of us don"t enjoy small amounts of fear. Why do we watch them? they are satisfying the fear of consumer fear. Zombie movies somehow trapped this fear (expressivist theory) Watching horror is a way to get rid of fear, if you have a lot of fears you have to watch a lot of horror. Good horror movies do the opposite of what the expressivist theory says they do, they have a deep negative impact on your psyche. People enjoy horror because it is fascinating in some way because it satisfies and stimulates our curiosity. Monster: specific kind of being, violate categories, unnatural, mix together categories that are normally distinct.
