Ergonomics is another class of workplace hazard which can be debilitating. Historically, little regard was given to the impact of the job process or technology on workers: sometimes it was unnecessarily dangerous. Even in the age of modern technology, human involvement is still key. If a machine or system is uncomfortable, difficult, overly complicated or dangerous to use, human workers will be affected: harmful to productivity, quality, and worker safety and health. Multidisciplinary science that seeks to confirm the workplace and of its physiological aspects to the worker . Derived from the greek words ergon meaning work and nomos meaning laws or principles: work laws. There must be rules/regulation and practices in place to ensure workers are following proper ergonomics (i. e. proper posture, workstation is fit for the worker, equipment used by the workers: goal: to fit the job to the worker. Consists of the scientific principles applied in minimizing the physical stress associated with the workplace.
