All went through population that wiped out entire populations - begin with the poor then to everyone else. Mostly about not understanding about how disease get transmitted (e. g. sanitiation, handwashing ec. ) Understanding of etiology & mode of transmission --> measures for control. Epidemics of infectious disease mostly limited to developing countries. Diarrhea, venereal diseases (stis), leprosy, tb, malaria & other parasitic diseases (water/food-borne illnesses) Globalization creates conditions for wide geographical range for disease transmission s. Sars, lyme disease, avian influenza, west nile virua, ebola and marburg hemorrhagic fevers, human monkeypox, bovine spongiform encephalopathy, zika virus.
