Vertebrae cervicals- 7 cervical vertebrae- c7 is most prominent and t1 is under. Neck muscles- help holding up our head erect. Trapezius - attach to the head and big triangle on posterior side. Trachea looking to see if it"s in allignment in the neck and at the midline: head neck injury- th trachea may deviate. -lymphatics: part of immune system- infection control lymph: collect pathogens from body. Child: small nontender , soft moveable = normal: hard, tender, fixed = abnormal. - one handed palpation -- lightly placing two fingers under the mandible and the other hand will hold the head to steady it. Head, face, neck : **know for the quiz!! Headache: when you"re stressed, not enough blood gluc ( hypoglycemia), not enough sleep, you may get more-- can generally be dealt with tylenol immediate and sudden onset= abnormal and should be assessed. Rom: ability to flex head forward, extend, and touch ears to shouldesr ( shuolders are remaining relaxed)
