Fascinaion with non-urban cultures: plants and shit. Musically has strong rhythm so opposite of impressionism. Irregular accents to you cant really tap your toe to it has an un-steady pulse. Dissonance is present: its emoional tension: polytonality: two or more keys at the same ime. Rite of spring (opening secion) 1913 this is his irst style of music. In 1920 he changed his style into neo-classicism. Previous forms things like rondo, sonata (things that were popular up unil the death of bae and moz: these are incorporated in the style of wriing. Smaller orchestra with a general clear texture like in the baroque. Quirky harmony not like he was reproducing bach but sill a bit strange and weird (modernisic harmony)
