First artworks date from this period of human culture. Mesolithic age(middle stone age): 20,000 bce to 9660 bce and. Some say its shouldn"t be a category b/c it seamlessly turned from. During mesolithic era, some people farmed and some still hunted and gathered. Neolithic age (new stone age): 10,000 bce until 4500 and. Sometimes called neolithic revolution b/c human life changed from hunting and gathering to farming. Use of tools and weaving and pottery became common. Oldest known cave painting of an animal in sulawesi, indonesia. 20,000-30,000 art didn"t progress, some earlier work proved more accurate and aesthetically advanced than later examples. Style stayed same fro thousands of years, no change or rebel = meaning stable society. It died out in neolithic age around 10,200bce.
