MHR 733 Lecture Notes - Lecture 8: M-Learning, Procedural Knowledge, Descriptive Knowledge
Document Summary
Training that involves using technology to deliver courses (learning: different types of technology-based training have evolved as technology itself evolves. Programmed logic for automated teaching operations (university of illinois) Training that does not involve technology use in delivery of learning. Instructor may use technology in the classroom; textbooks. Cbt: training delivered via computer: different from e-learning. E-learning: uses network technology (internet, intranet) to deliver instruction or information to individuals: specific type of cbt. For the purposes of the lecture i will use cbt to refer to both. Training method that involve an instructor/facilitator who leads the training, or facilitates it online (sometimes via satellite) Individuals (or groups) take initiative and responsibility for their own learning experience: greatly facilitated by cbt since the learner can control the time, place and the pace. Increased flexibility: learn at their own pace, learn what is relevant to their needs, become independent with less dependence on formal training, learn according to their own learning style.
