Tort failure to fulfill a private obligation imposed by law. Tort law deter bad behaviour that could hurt another person. Social purpose discourages people from committing private wrongs by requiring them to compensate & restore the wronged party. Intentional: committing battery, torts that involve an intentional act. Negligence: when harm is caused carelessly. Strict liability: very risky activities caused by exotic pets or wandering cattle. Strict liability torts for extraordinary dangerous activity the tort occurs when the defendant is responsible for an especially dangerous activity that caused harm: transportation of dangerous products. Explosives: keeping of dangerous animals tigers. When a person intentionally acts in a defined wrongful way intent to harm intent to act. Intentional tort of trespass to land improper interference with land intentional act interfere with land. Do something that the owner of the land did not agree too improper: has to be intentional, has to be improper land: above, on or below.
