Btm shipping owns a fleet of container ships. Each ship has a unique registration number and in addition to the ship"s name also required is the year of commission and gross tonnage. These ships are used to deliver and pick up containers for clients. Containers are only entered into the system when a pickup and delivery is arranged. Each container for a client is assigned a unique identifier. A registered client is given a client no. The client name and a contact person with a phone # and email are also recorded. Periodically a sailing schedule is created for each ship showing the start date and estimated end date. For administrative purposes each sailing schedule is given a unique schedule #. Each ship may have several schedules a year and future and past schedules are maintained. The schedule will indicate the ports of call in sequence starting with the first port and ending with the last.
