King louis summons twenty thousand french troops to surround the premises in order to intimidate the tennis court oath. King louis also dismisses jacques necker for a 2nd time, which was seen as a hostile act towards the national assembly. The national assembly ended up being saved by a series of urban and rural uprisings by the common people between july and august 1789. The king tried to intimidate the common people by adding more troops to the arsenals in paris and along the roads to versailles. This ended up infuriating the common people, who then decided to act agai(cid:374)st the ki(cid:374)g (cid:271)y (cid:272)reati(cid:374)g the (cid:862)per(cid:373)a(cid:374)e(cid:374)t co(cid:373)(cid:373)ittee(cid:863) to keep order i(cid:374) Needing arms, they managed to successfully take over a small armory and collect some arms.
