Canada has had to deal with issues of obesity. Our attitude to obesity and overweight have changed over time: earlier period of history showed obesity was sign of wealth as it signalled you had enough food to feed yourself and your family. Fat land how america became the fastest people in the world. Obesity varies from different countries and regional differences. The problem between consumption and disease is that there are paradoxical data. The french paradox (misnomer) isn"t limited jut to the french at all and it relates to western. We devote a lot of time looking at fat. Lard come from duck and geese and so there are regions of france that depend on fat from animal: the domain of olive oil, the predominant fat is olive oil, mediterranean regions of france. The most obvious observation about fat is we don"t understand everything we know about fat in terms of health. We make decisions based on bad judgements.
