Crime: examine local crime, how safe is canada, x# of crimes were committed on campus last year, matrix want a simplified measure to summarize all various crimes and incorporate them. It depends on the nature of crime to determine how bad or good it was into a single index. A single number that summarizes everything for us: crime severity index csi. What if u were to compare theft and assault use outcome to measure the weight. People who are convicted are sent to prison, sentence can be used as a measure for assessing the severity of a crime. Crime severity has gone down in all provinces in canada. The only real exception was pei, the population is so small, few crimes are more significant. Over the last year, the csi for canada has gone down by 2% Index based on csi all show different crimes : can also collect csi for specific geographical locations.
