Suffragettes was a derogative term meaning unimportant/futile used for women. Purple white and green; colour scheme to be used for the womens rights movement. 1897 when the movement for women"s right to vote came into play. Women"s political union found in 1956; pankhurst family. Uniforms worn by women were long skirts (green/purple) with a white top with a sash over their right shoulder; sometimes they wore all white along with the sash.
