All we have is jill"s copy of events. Readers are invited to relate to jill"s perspective and accept it as truth. Jill is not an entirely sympathetic character. Takes a while for jill to describe wendy as a bully. Doesn"t start off story by calling wendy a bully right off the bat, she withholds this information until later on in the story.
