Framework that allows you to analyze and view things through a different perspective. Mad people are seen as the experts as the movement recognizes individual experiences as unique and different. An advocate is someone who can speak for a general population and stands up for them, working to make a difference. An ally is someone who speaks for the population and supports the movement but takes more of a backseat. Privileging of rationality and a form of discrimination and oppression against a mental state a person has. A mad perspective strives to take the focus away from medical knowledge of mental illness and giving ownership to those who identify on their own terms.
