Most programs have a specific mandate that determine the type of young people that they service; these young people have some common needs and circumstances for the young person. Began in residential care, orphanages and educational. With children and youth between the ages 5-21 who were described as emotionally disturbed, aggressive, delinquent or orphaned. Sectors of cyc practice include: health/mental health, education, social services and justice/criminal justice. Cyc practice focuses on the social, emotional and behavioural issues and these can come with a number of clinical diagnoses including developmental and/or global delays and/or physical disabilities. Microsystem: the immediate systems the child is located in and the people, activities and space. Mesosystem: relationship between 2 or more microsystems, development dpends on quality of connections. Exosystem: outside systems that are indirectly related to the child, but influence them: example: parent"s workplace/career. Macrosystems: beliefs, values and rules of society and culture.
