Canadian police officers carry out their duties within a number of legislative frameworks, which include: The canadian charter of rights and freedoms (ccrf) Provides guidelines for police to follow to ensure rights are protected. Authorizes police power to arrest and use force. Anti terrorism act, controlled drugs and substance act, canadian evidence act.
