Learning (both social and individual) allows an organism to change behaviour to fit changing environments: a form of phenotypic plasticity. When to engage in social learning (laland, 2004): look to larger group when individual behaviour is not effective: selectivity of social learning. Chimps were more likely to use the yellow box. Might be a limitation as chimps might just be doing things that their friends are doing: enhancement, types of social learning (see figure in textbook, chapter 13)
