The reason that species like humans, chimpanzees, and dolphins have developed brains so large and metabolically demanding is to meet cogniive demands of social living. In every generaion in a social species, the individuals with the greatest ability to outsmart their compeitors will be most likely to survive and mate. Supposedly most responsible for empatheic moral development according the hofman. Inducive discipline involves highlighing to the child the consequences of their acions for others while disciplining him or her. Encourages development of feelings of empathy and guilt and increases levels of pro-social behaviour in children. Authoritaive parents unlikely to use physical discipline, will explain reasons behind rules they lay out. Reason with children, hearing arguments but not always giving in to them. Set irm rules but also grant children a high degree of freedom within set boundaries. Praise obedience as a virtue and expect children to follow rules without explanaion.
