Document Summary
Psyc100 week 5 what behaviour is made. Egyptians preserved hearts & stomachs, but not brains: they had a hook to use to try and scrape out the brains of the deceased, never thought much of brains. Aristotle: said there must be something in our bodies that distinguish humans from beasts, that being our brain: the brain is the radiator. Recall: psychology is the scientific study of behavior, thought, and experience; however it is not the study of the brain. Neuroscience: the scientific study of the nervous system: not the study of the behavior. It must have a physical form where it rests: an engram, that we can only access through neuroscience. 2 nervous systems: central nervous system: brain & spinal cord, peripheral nervous system. Nerves: a conduit of brain cabling, touch a nerve. Compress a nerve that runs to your hand, you will feel pins and needles .
