Week 17- personality: you are always the same yet differ- certain parts of personality are fixed and certain parts can change with situations circumstances and effort from the individual. If an outgoing person is sick and doesn"t want to go out its seen as temporary: the study of personality focuses on describing stable differences among individuals. 4 different personality perspectives: trait, humanistic, all four are multidimensional and presented on a continuum i. e. more outgoing person and not absolutely. Objective tests: minnesota multiphasic inventory asks people to answer series of true- false questions about themselves. Neo personality inventory presents a list of statements that people agree or disagree with on a five- point scale. Projective tests: rorschach test best known as series of ink blots presented and the person describes what he or she sees. Called projective because person may project his or her personality onto the inkblot- remains controversial because of unreliable scoring system.
