Esteem needs: to achieve, be competent, gain approval and
recognition
Cognitive needs: to know, understand, and explore
Aesthetic needs: symmetry, order, and beauty
Self-actualization needs: to find self-󴊪󴊹󴊰󴊪󴊭󴊰󴊰󴊱󴊩󴊲󴊸 󴊥󴊲󴊨 󴊶󴊩󴊥󴊰󴊭󴊾󴊩 󴊳󴊲󴊩󴌌󴊷

Belonging is a need, not a want
o The need to belong is the motivation to maintain relationships that involve
pleasant feelings such as warmth, affection, appreciation, and mutual

o Pleasant interactions are wanted, but a sense of permanence is what
makes these interactions important for our well-being eg. having close
relationships rather than several, less meaningful and less frequent
interactions
