Some predictable changes are due to lifestyle changes. Snyder (1974): self-monitoring high self-monitoring less true to themselves, shift based on situations and others but flexibility of personality is a personality trait (acts a modulator) Bem & allen (1974): on predicting some of the people some of the time accounts for variations. Walter mischel (1968): behaviour is not consistent across time or situations. It is likely both internal traits and the situation we are in are important determinants of behaviour.
