Social learning theory (bandura: says that we learn a lot about how to act from watching and imitating others (i. e. models) Caregivers are key early in our lives, and as other people are added (teachers, friends, extended family, siblings, etc. Attachment, temperament, and parenting styles are also very important to social learning. This is not an exclusive list (other factors are important as well) Initial bond: between the infant and their caregiver: develops because of the basic needs for safety and survival, there is a foundation for seeking others for physical and psychological comfort.
