Document Summary
The electromagnetic radiation to which we are sensitive is a very small part of the electromagnetic spectrum. Light is made up of particles, called photons. The colour (or hue) we see depends on the wavelength or frequency of the light. The brightness we see depends on the intensity of the light. Two characteristics of light waves are wavelength and amplitude. Wavelength - distance from crest of one wave to crest of next. Amplitude/intensity - amplitude is the height of each wave. The cornea is the transparent covering of the eye. It is primarily responsible for bringing light into eye , a(cid:374)d also a(cid:272)ts as a le(cid:374)s to fo(cid:272)us light. I(cid:374)(cid:272)e the shape of the (cid:272)or(cid:374)ea (cid:272)a(cid:374)"t reall(cid:455) (cid:272)ha(cid:374)ge, o(cid:374)l(cid:455) o(cid:374)e fo(cid:272)us is possible. The pupil is the opening (the black circle) in the middle of your iris (the part coloured brown, or green or blue) that admits light, allowing it to hit the back of the eye (the retina).
