Document Summary

The earth is very close to the sun, a star that provides us with warmth and gives us life. Ancient greeks believed that the earth itself stood still at the middle of the universe and the sun orbited us because we did not feel the effect of the earth orbiting the sun. Whether earth orbits the sun or the sun orbits the earth, the results are the same. We will see different constellations of the zodiac at different times of year. In february, we will see leo overhead at night and the stars of aquarius are hidden from view in the daytime sky. In august, aquarius will be seen and leo will be hidden (reversed from above) Seasonal changes are another yearly cycle to consider. We progress through spring, summer, fall and winter. The distance of an object from the sun can have an effect on the heat and cold it experiences.
