Stem cyte: removes plasma + rbc from baby"s umbilical cord rich in stem cells: autograft- isogenic, isograft- synergistic, allograft- allogenic, xenograft- xenogeneic. Allorecognition: recipient t cell rec incompatible hla ag on donor apc. Mhc graft: induces memory after 1st graft, ifngamma prod. T cells rec foreign hla so t cells may be inact to reduce graft rejection but can lead to susceptibility to viral infection + virus assoc tumours. Cd4 cells prod cytokines which stim cd8 for inflam + ab prod. Hyper-acute rejection if recipient has preformed ab against donor ag, immune complex formation + mac. Ab-mediated rejection: pre-formed ab bind vascular endo in graft to act complement inflame + obstruction of blood vessels (h vs g)
